Last week I did some reading on Facilitated Communication (FC) and came across the story of Sue Rubin, an FC “success story”. Rubin is a nonverbal autistic woman who started using FC at the age of 13. Since then, Rubin - now in her late 20s - has learned to type independently and revealed to the world a bright, thoughtful and empathetic soul essentially trapped in a nonspeaking body.
