UU’s Signless cufflinks got me thinking: what if, in the Alpha universe, Signless-worship is the mainstream religion, rather than heresy?
And what if red is part of the normal hemospectrum in the Alpha universe, and lime green is the mutation?
It seems very likely at this point that UU will have lime blood. Her symbol* is the staff of Asclepius (the roman name for Ophiuchus) and it’s green. She’s the thirteenth zodiac sign, so it makes sense that she’d also be the thirteenth blood color. Interestingly - perhaps significantly, or perhaps not - the Sburb Alpha logo is red rather than lime green.
Like Karkat in the Beta universe, UU types in grey. (Apparently the hex code for her particular shade of grey is based on the atomic weight of uranium, which she - uranianUmbra - is also associated). Is she, like Karkat, hiding her actual color? Are the Signless cufflinks her paying lip service to the dominant religion, to avoid getting culled for her mutant blood?
Karkat is supposed to be lime-blooded. This was determined by some MSPAWiki users long before Hussie declared lime blood to be canon. Lime lies between green (Nepeta) and yellow (Sollux) on the hemospectrum, the same number of degrees apart as Cancer is between Leo and Gemini. But he was born with a mutation. So perhaps UU is supposed to be red but was born a mutant green.
So now I am wondering if UU’s server player is… actually Karkat. Or at least some version of him.
*That we’ve seen so far. I expect when she’s finally revealed, her “true” symbol will be the standard Ophiuchus symbol as it appears in the classical zodiac - that is, the letter U with a squiggly “snake” across it.
