So I found out there’s been some demisexuality-related drama on Tumblr recently (though really, when isn’t there? :P).

In the discussions I’ve seen a lot of people seemed to misunderstand some basic stuff about it, and I think that might partly be because the original poster’s graphic was kind of confusing. So I made my own chart to try and help explain it better. Doubles as a way to explain demisexuality to anyone else!

Thoughts are appreciated, especially if you can help me think of some specific examples of being close with people. I know it is different for everyone so I’d like to know maybe how some other people define it.

Stealing this because I think it’s a great way to begin explaining demisexuality to someone. It does a good job at stopping the “demisexuals just call themselves that to make the rest of us sound oversexed” argument.

I admit that I don’t understand demisexuality well at all, and I really appreciate that someone took the time to make this graph.
